i normally dont consider myself a techie, but in contrast to my other recreational activities, i sort of have ideas and am more venerated to the this form of jargon. nonetheless, im an amateur when it comes to this stuff. :D
anywho, since im an apple fan myself, the whole wwdc `09 buzz was my appetizer for today's brunch. upon seeing the specs of the new iphone 3gs, i wasnt that swooned over my feet unlike last year's. i wished they could have done more. no new design, but theres a new os--which will also be available to old gen iphones and itouches by next week. what i like, though, about the new iphone is its claimed 2x performance + new video capture capability (30fps, that's holy sh*t for a smartphone). autofocus was also introduced to its new 3megapixel cam. i would have wanted that autofocus feature, but 3megapixels?! they could have at least made it into 5! that would have had made me drooling in front of the monitor. after all, most high-end smartphones and touchscreens have an average of 5-8megapixel cam (12 is the max. for sony's to-be-released touchscreen camphone). theyve also included a compass thing, which was already anticipated among rumors months ago. so, i wasnt that surprised. same goes to its mac os x platform counterpart. no really new shocking features, but theyve boosted up performance--a lot.
but on the bright side, theyve priced down all macs! xD
plus, theyve added a 13-inch into the macbook pro line which has a surprisingly lowered price of $1200! (the old price of a consumer-class aluminum macbook was $1300, but i think theyve also lowered it to $999 -- wild guess.) omg, thank you apple! and theyve also announced that they'll be making another macbook unibody which, I believe, will be released next year. its a big shocker that theyve lowered down the prices despite global economic failures!!
on the other side of the techworld, referring to pc borders, microsoft is definitely going to shine this year! :) no doubt. their new os, windows 7, stirred up a lot of buzz and has garnered positive feedbacks from users through its beta release. it will be available by october. its new search engine, bing.com, a reincarnation of its previous predecessor, has its fair share of limelight. ive tried it once and i find the webpage a tad bit boring. but the search engine was good, i guess. oh yeah, microsoft also has this project natal for xbox 360. i dont know what the hell is that, but, according to my friend internet, it's probably good. :))
