4's the magic number

after a very latenight (err, earlymorning) tv show marathon, i finally hit the sack at 4am. :))
random shows after am idol already bore me to sleep actually, but due to a weird melatonin activity in my brain, i often times find myself contemplating on my imaginary rendezvous.

but, i was able to wake up very early in the morning to study anatomy lol.
after 30 mins of reading, i told myself i'll sleep for an hour before resuming;
of course, i ended up waking at 4pm. god, curse you wtv part of my brain who's incharge of the sleeping. :]

room raid

i would consider the whole situation today a miracle.
apart from the chicken pox, i was able to tackle something far more grotesque than my sister's 5-hour continuous singing bonanza of phineas and ferb's song goochi goochi goo: my room.
after nearly three years of not touching the vacuum cleaner, i dared to use it to clean the cursed dust bunnies under my bed, of which dreadfully caused a shortlived sneezing festivity.
i also took A LOT of stuff (and i mean it) from my cabinet to give more room to my cursed nursing books and photocopies. at least, im able to sleep peacefully now with the absence of the pesky crumbling noises my books make everytime my foot hits them.

other than that, im quite happy to say that ive finished my powerpoint presentation for anatomy class, but will be put to no use since the fourth year have already reported our topic (shet, after all the biga and effort of making our powerpoint look really good). :))

i also installed photoshop CS4. BUT it, too, was another problem. it wont work. curse this day. :)
i will be returning to school on monday (hoping that careen wont freak out upon seeing me lol). god, i miss my classmates, dbp, and friends. :)
jm!! if ever youre reading, next week ko na dal-un ang nick&norah's kun wala mo pa na lantaw. haha!

english bitch

after three hours of extensive research (and ym-ing), im nearing to finish the second part of my term paper, which is due today 10:00am. and the time? 3:24pm. :))

making the chickenpox as an excuse to pass this late, im still pissed off with the limited number of words to write about two VERY GENERAL topics: The Status of the World's Environment Today and The Philippine Economy in relation to the World's Crisis.

format: font size 12, font style arial, margins 1", double space, two pages only for each topic.

wth?? seriously? i dont like our english teacher.. since day 1.
i must be grateful, actually, that we're given a short assignment.
but it shouldve been specific topics! how can i squeeze everything into 4 paragraphs
when your topics are very general?!
and i hate my first write-up. bitin. and, blah, some lines are sort of missing.

The Status of the World’s Environment Today

Tagging on a fishing boat, Tsumaranai Otoko, a young eight-year-old, glazed his eyes over the vast cerulean bay of Wakayama City, Japan. “What are you and your crew fishing today, daddy?” the boy asked his father. Their boat stopped as it reached a 300 meter distance away from dry land, “You’ll see.” Juvenile to the crew’s preparation of their fishing equipment, the child sat on the deck as he attentively observes one mother whale and its young swimming under the fiery Sunday morning sunshine. Then, without wasting any second, his father readies and shoots the whale with a whaling harpoon. As soon as the explosive weapon rests inside the pitied animal’s carcass, the merciless crew patiently waits for the whale to die. “Why did you kill it?” asked the boy. The father sits beside the troubled child, and pats his head, “It’s for science, Tsumaranai-kun. The government is paying us. There’s a center near the city that studies whales.”

Among others, whaling—the viscous hunting of whales for their prized meat—is but one of the cruel schemes of mankind. But unaware of the wearying results of causing extinction to whales and other species, men still thrive to make fraud approaches, implied in the happening situation in Wakayama City, to achieve their monetary and selfish gains. Though debates over the conservation of the whale sovereignty have been conducted in the past three decades, still, major countries, namely United States, Canada, Norway, et al, have all legalized the said controversy but have limited the practice to the natives who are accustomed to whaling. Poaching, on the other hand, has also driven a number of species—Tigers, Giant Pandas, Crowned Solitary Eagles, to name a few—to their endangered status. Thus, extreme caution and forced breeding must be provided to most of these mentioned animals, which are enlisted in the World Conservation Union’s Red List of Threatened Species, by captivating them in nature-like reserves miles away from their innate habitat.

With the advent of animal extinction, biodiversity—the cycle wherein each species depends on the services of other species to ensure survival—is likely to become disrupted. Once an outflow occurs in a balanced ecosystem, both man and animal are going to suffer from the lack of sufficient resources (e.g. food, medical drugs, pollution breakdown, climate stability, etc.), of which can be only harvested as products of biodiversity. Continuous onset of pollution, in general, has also been approved as one of the causes of impaired biodiversity. To mainstream much of the Filipino society’s disgrace, two cities of Bulacan, namely Meycauayan and Marilao, are enlisted as two of the most polluted places in the world. Other leading environmental concerns include: deforestation, irrigation, cyanide fishing, waste disposal and the list goes on. Continued frequency of these blunders gives off unwanted perils that may not only affect the environment, but also the whole human race and the climate.

The following morning, the young Otoko, oblivious to the changes sustaining around him, walks to the local elementary school. Their teacher assigns the class a short essay about what they want to be in the future. Eager to finish early, the young boy starts off by writing “I choose to be a fisherman, just like my dad.” One great scholar once mentioned that each of us is given the free will to choose between doing good and doing bad. In Otoko’s case, he chose what he thinks is right. As the young boy left the classroom, his small piece of paper silently lies on the teacher’s table, etched with his final scribble “Yet, at the same time, I choose to change the world…for the better.”

china sucks

could this be a new SARS outbreak? maybe, yes. maybe, no. when a sudden gush of patients, with similar symptoms (nausea, then renal failure and paralysis), were rushed in a panamanian hospital, this alarmed a group of medical specialists to lead a study on their constant variables. definitely, the solution leads either to a new unidentified epidemic disease or mass poisoning. all the patients phlebotomy tests were checked for any presence of metallic substances in their blood, a sign of mass poisoning. but all results showed negative. it was also clear that no virus or whatever had caused the sudden manifestations. the only way to find out was to study the patients common variables and monitor these indicative data for any significance.

all cases were related to coronary problems and were prescribed with lisinopril, a drug that alleviates hypertension and congestive heart failure. approx 70% of the patients indicated they had been using the mentioned remedy. after cautionary findings, the drug appeared to be harmless.

so what was the cause of this new disease? this still puzzled the team, until one member's brevity and eagle eye's view of the patients charts gave hint to the mystery. lisinopril had an adverse effect on the respiratory tract, thus, these patients were given a cough syrup to reduce the side effects. this may sound simple and insignificant, but because of extensive research of this cough syrup, it was unveiled that 8% of the said cough syrup was made of deg (diethylene glycol)--the mastermind behind the renal failure, sudden paralysis and liver atrophy.

the pharmaceutical source of the said cough syrup revealed to be in china. 182 were poisoned, and out of those, 121 died. to date no-one has been prosecuted in china for making or selling the tainted pharmaceutical ingredients.

i diversed the original article from a readers digest feb 2009 copy into the mini easier-reading post above. lol. why have i caused myself to waste much of my time into this diversion? well, easy, china.

i loathe china. for me (no offense intended), china is definitel
y a country of power and modern diversity but it sure lacks the ethics and moral camisado of bringing in a morally drived innovation to the world base. first, there was a news report before that chinese goodies were contaminated with formalin. i was, of course, not bothered by the commotion. i was in high school back then, and, like duh, the people there in school are obviously chinese. and fyi to those who dont know what formalin is, its a substance you inject in cats and other animals for embalming practices.
mid-2008, there was another report about melamine-contiminated hong kong eggs and milk products. its still obvious that china kindled the process. and now this. after producing a mass genocide, china gets away with a clearance of legal afflictions. i may sound bias here that im referring to china as a whole. indeed, it was maybe one company in china who made that ordeal of exporting the cough syrup to other ends of the world, but take note, it is still the chinese governments responsibility to clear out any errors before exporting their products. on the other hand, theres a chance of illegal exporting. its a slim chance, though. after three controversial exports, im not afraid to say that china is being too frugal by placing illegal substances to camaflouge the missing ingredients of their products.

screw china.

strawberry swing

they were sitting, they were talking on the strawberry swing.
and everybody was for fighting, wouldnt wanna waste a thing.

i was up all night listening to my friend aizlynn on the phone as she kept on reminding me to hear the coldplay song strawberry swing.

a perfect day, indeed, may sound ironic. today was their (aizlynn and co.) redem on comfort and hygiene, where you get to do all those bath stuff on bed. after rounding up a short-time prayer, maam baculas (did i spell it correctly?) started blurting out this morning's redem performed by the last group in section c. one pair that caught her eye was the gyno-doy duo. because of aizlynn's despair of keeping that part of the topic close, i stopped on asking questions what did maam baculas exactly say.

we all know--as of now ive approximately calculated that 90% of the batch knows--that gyno is aizlynn's sort of beau. so hearing the news how maam baculas liked the couple (gyno-doy) this morning, aiz's groupmates reacted by smiling. my dear friend started to flush really red (yes, even i couldnt believe that her blushing reached to an extent beyond her brownieness lol. peace aizÜ). everything was just a daze that the people around her smiled and laughed; maam baculas even asked aizlynn if gyno really is her boyfriend.

running towards the girls cr, aizlynn sat on the bathroom sink as her tears fall down, cue background music.

cold, cold water bring me round
. now my feet wont touch the ground.
cold, cold water what do you say? when its such a perfect day..

yeah, her heart's broken into a million tiny pieces but she keeps on denying it. like aizlynn, the lyrics of the song is lying, too. it was never a perfect day. and that, my dear friend, is the point where i realize why she loves this song.

i remember, we were walking up to strawberry swing.
i cant wait until morning, wouldnt wanna change a thing..

screw love

What does it take to find a lost love?
a. Money
b. Luck
c. Smarts
d. Destiny

i swear you know the answer to this one. taken into jamal and latika's case from the movie slumdog millionaire, then the answer would have to be all of the above. but thats the thing about movies--they show the rarest of chances to happen. take slumdog millionaire, for instance. how many of you have come to accept that childhood sweethearts who have been drifted apart "twice" in their lives can still find a way to reunite and live a 'happily ever after' is possible?

there are only two kinds of love in this world: your first love, the person whom your heart still longs for after three years he/she had last answered your phone call, and your lost love, the one you're truly destined for but whom you still insist to be your first love.

lets get serious here. first love has always been gruesome--it's like taking your virginity away and continuing to haunt your very being up to the present. but, dont worry, there will always be a point in our lives that we come to accept the fact we arent virgins anymore, may it be physical or emotional. meanwhile, theres the lost love. its really lost, actually, even in its existence. no one has yet mentioned about it in full details, except in the stated movie, of course. but, hey, it needs all the extra credit.

lost love is far from the former's circumstances. it doesnt strip you but instead rejuvenates your imaginary torn off hymen clinging an extra thought "hey, im virgin again! it only means one thing!" but, no, dont take its mystical gift for granted, especially for the "green" selfish reasons. lost love only comes once, and so does your reborn virginity.

therefore, you should work hard to maintain a healthful relationship with your lost love. after all, it took all of your sweat to search for him/her. to those who havent found theirs yet, you might be wondering how can one be so sure that the guy/gal standing across the street would be the lost love you are trying to find and would not react in a way "what the f*ck? lost love, screw you. find yourself a stripper in a brothel or i'll push your ass into a running bus". well, have you tried searching under the sofa? kidding aside, to save you from insurance fees, its really up to you actually. no love expert can answer that question but your self. let the love magic do its booty thing. you'll never know--that guy/gal across the street is actually your lost love. and if not, dont blame me for getting your arse kicked. it was a wild guess.

so, do you still believe that childhood sweethearts who have been drifted apart "twice" in their lives can still find a way to reunite and live a 'happily ever after'? maybe yes, taken from jamal and latika's account. but jamal's a lucky bastard considering the fact that latika is his first and lost love. but thats the thing i learned from watching movies..

..the rarest of chances happen.

hero

i was just scanning some networks in the tv
but i stopped to watch american idol.
im not a fan of the show from the start since my highschool classmates
werent watching it. blah, curse them.
i only got to see the second half of the show
and most of the contestants werent that good.
it was danny's turn. from the looks of his face
he didnt show any charisma that he was a good singer.
but then, i was blown away by his performance. lol.
literally, blown away. :))
go danny, i'll be rooting for you all the way! haha.

slumdog slammed

i dont feel fine today. no, not the chickiepox.
a minute ago, i was really astounded after watching slumdog millionaire.
then, limewire came in with its effin scenario.
i tried to download baby mama,
it said: need more sources.
then, i tried keying in pineapple express, waitress, other movies.
the same result. oh god, im fuckin pissed.
wtf? my limewire is pro version. screw internet. :))

knocked out

im pretty much pissed off of knocked up.
most of the dvd's i burned were okay.
except for knocked up. after 5 mins, the movie went nuts.
with glitches, that is.

i just realized what caused my dvds to glitch at certain scenes.
in contrast to 21 and nick and norah's infinite playlist,
my just freshly burned dvds forgetting sarah marshall and slumdog millionaire were definitely fine--no glitches, no pauses, no whatever.
they just played continuously.
dont get me wrong but i love the quality of all the dvds ive burned.
except for one teeny problem--the glitches.

when knocked up was being burned,
i was working on its cover for the dvd in photoshop.
so thats why. the photoshop thing must've disrupted the burning process.
unlike in my old dvds, i just left my laptop burning
the latter movies without doing anything.

still, it was a waste of dvd and ink :))

so far, with the chickiepox thing, i dont like staying here at home.
seriously. i cant believe that im saying this
but i miss school. :))
despite the stress, the homework, the latenight cramming, the angelie.
[im kidding about the angelie part. duh. i would rather pick chickiepox than to be 100meters close to her, of which is clearly happening right now. lol]

so far, ive already burned 6 dvds (1 defective lol).
but i wont be burning anything today. well, except for food.
ive run out of stickypaper for my dvd covers. boo me.

what am i supposed to do? watch my blisters?
i clearly need something to distract my hands away from the itchiness. :))
actually, its not that itchy. i dont know why, maybe im manhid. (accdg to aiz haha)
oh yeah, i dont have any fever or whatsoever.
coz i think its like a complementary symptom. but wtv, i dont care. :))

chicken dance

beyotch. that's the first thing that came into my mind when i woke up this morning.
i was absolutely correct. im chickiepox positive. :))
i dont know if this is karma for eating friedchicken for 10 consecutive dinners.

(j, kun gabasa ka, about next week or the week after next ko lg hatag ang nick and norah's.. ang sa usb lg.. may problem ang 1 ka scene sa dvd nga gn burn ko.Ü)

well, the only thing i have to worry about is coping with my missed tests and redems. not only that, mum and i had a steamy fight over the dosage of acyclovir.
coz it says right on my prescription that i should take 2 tablets per dose 5 times a day.
but mum said one tablet contains 200mg acyclovir, so likely 10tablets = 2000mg.
and blah blah.
actually, i dont know what the hell she was talking about.
so whatever, lets leave that behind.

i have about a week or more (accdg to the physician) to recover :))
hopefully.

*message to classmates:
(esp ca, aiz & dbp friendsÜ)
eat well. avoid eggs.
kun malatnan kmu, pls si joma basula. haha jowk lg.
anyways, im gonna miss u bsn i-d.

Ü

to wayne: ara sa imu usb ko nga pink lol. so likewise. :))
to jm & mike: dont worry. someday you'll have your fair share. :)) pati ah.
to aien: hi! haha.

seven year itch

one of our classmates just returned to school after a few weeks
vacation alongside his chickenpox. but he's cured now. hopefully.
careen and i are alarmed about the chickenpox thing.
were neither a fan of chickens nor things.
and after waking up with one huge lesion on my arm,
i was a tad bit paranoid. :))

i never had the chickiepox before and i dont want it now.
why not summer? lol. i really cant afford to miss the redems.
well, except for gemarino's :))
im still wondering about our hepa thing.
accdg to my baby book, i had 3 shots of hepa b vaccine:
first shot- 6/27/92
second shot- 7/28/92
third shot- 8/28/92

and i really dont get it why my results in our blood wtv showed that
my antibodies are nonreactive. big question mark.
dont blame me. blame the baby book.
oh god, the lesion is starting to itch. :))
idk if this is psychosomatic or something else. lol.

we also had a graded oral recitation in chem lec this morning.
lucky me, i wasnt picked. i wasnt prepared actually :]
thats all for today.
oh yeah, heres my current fave song
(i know valentines is over but im still dedicating this to my crush..you know who you areÜ)

pirate painting

success! ive just burned my first ever pirated dvd!
thank you VSO! oh god, and its hd too! :]

maybe, i'll start my own pirating business. :p

ive also finished dl nick and norah's infinite playlist
and i dont have any plans of watching it this week.
maybe in the weekends, after burning it [biga :))] ..screw homework.

its nearing midnight so i gotta finish this post.
my anaphy proj is approx 35% complete..
god, i hate animations. it took more than 3 hours making the animation thing in photoshop.
bad idea. i shouldve stuck with the usual still cliparts.
not to mention, the long hours of glaring and staring at the laptop
caused my cervical curvature to hyperextend. massage pls. :))

so far, ive finished:
[x] dl nick and norah's infinite playlist
[x] do anaphy slideshow proj (sortof)

my next stop before my 4-hour sleep: chemistry.
..or maybe i sleep instead and study tomorrow morning in chem lab.
im of no use to my labmates anywho. :)) so beware future groupmates.

infinity and beyond

multiply was getting boring and boring-er. so i decided to try blogger.
and i have no intentions of revealing this blog to anyone.. yet.
maybe aien. :))

niways, im downloading nick and norah's infinite playlist.

idk what's the story all about.
actually i dont even know why im dl-ing it. :))
both leads are ugly. seriously. but hey, cera's cool in juno.
kat dennings was also pretty damn fine in house bunny
(the girl with the putatay piercings lol).

school has never been this hectic. since the sipacio era in hwasiong.
oh god, all those paperworks still give me the gb's.
redems are sortof okaaay. && speaking of redems,
one of my groupmates has a secret-but-now-revealed-due-to-her-stupidity
crush on our c.i. :)) and im not telling. lol.

**another wearisome sunday afternoon.
chem exam, redem, filipino and anaphy report
..oh wait, leave filipino behind. i dont even attend most fil classes anyway :))
