Enrollment yo

Enrollment day. NOT.

As usual, due to discrepancies or delayed processing of our scholarship forms (service grant), I wasn’t able to get enrolled (and so was Roma and Desiree). Maybe that’s a good thing (lol just kidding).

Anyways, let’s reserve that topic next week when I do have the “fortunate” chance of having our scholarships signed and be enrolled. This afternoon was filled with fun, bonding moments with Aiz, Mike, Wayne and JM, and of course, packed with a LOT of calories. And since this diary isn’t about food either, let’s skip my restaurant reviews and food fetishes.

The real excitement though was the time I went home at around 5. So Aizlynn and Wayne dropped me at the building near the Sports Complex sign (the one in front of the pink Lopez house), I decided to walk from that point going to West to catch a Jaro Liko Tagbak jeepney… until I realized the number of standby passengers-in-waiting I have to compete with are reciprocal to the miraculously small number of jeepneys today.

That influenced my decision of walking from West to the intersection along Jollibee Jaro (where Leganes jeepneys are en route from SM) and I can’t believe my eyes when I saw about 15 people waiting (because I’m usually alone when I wait for a Leganes jeep to arrive). And you guess it right: I walked from Jollibee Jaro, passed CSJ (Colegio de San Jose) and managed to disembark at Jaro Plaza safely.

But then, the situation is just getting worse—the Leganes and Jaro Liko Tagbak loading and unloading area is jam-packed with a HUGE crowd. And this made me wonder if Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson are still here in Iloilo and maybe are about to have their dinner at Green Mango (across Jaro Plaza) causing a commotion and a crowd attraction (LOL just kidding).

And instead of competing, I settled on walking from the loading/unloading area to the Panaderia ni Paa building where Jaro Liko NFA jeeps are abound to be waiting for my overused four year old Chucks from all the walking.

I was right, and it was a well-bargained decision—but the only drawback is that NFA jeeps only travel until GMA network building at Alta Tierra. Yes, there is still a need for me to walk from GMA going to Gran Plains Subdivision. And walk I did (since it was 6pm already, so traffic is destined along that part of MacArthur Drive; plus the amount of time of walking and waiting inside a jeep muddled in a traffic jam would be approximately close, and more importantly, walking is free of charge and healthful).

Though I am in a state of fatigue and dehydration at the moment, I realized that I wasn’t angry about what happened as one would normally do (who wouldn’t? I mean, you want to go home early but you have to walk miles before reaching home). And to be honest, I enjoyed the whole excitement factor of walking and surviving (not being smuggled or be wedged in a hold-up situation). That also made me aware that I’m the type of person who would take a risk and create my own path rather than go along with the flow—like the rest of the crowd in the loading/unloading station in Jaro Plaza.

And on the bright side, I burned all the calories from my Pizza Hut lunch and my Chocolate Lust Trifle (c/o Nothing But Desserts) J
